“So, God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them…Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good…” (Genesis 1:27,31 NKJV).
There may have been times when you have felt insecure or inept to do something. Maybe other people have made you feel bad about a certain personality trait or your physical appearance. Maybe society and culture have made you feel “less-than”. It’s easy to get pulled into not feeling good enough or unworthy.
But God sees you and says, “For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart”. You are made in the image of God; He personally created you and you are precious to Him.
God says you are: Special to Him and He created you with purpose.
Ephesians 2:10 NKJV
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
We do not receive salvation by doing good works; however, God created you for a special purpose. He designed you with specific talents and skills to carry-out the good works that He has planned for you to do. Are you good at encouraging people? Are you good at helping others? Are you good at showing compassion and being a good listener? God has given you certain abilities, unique to you, to serve Him and others. You are His workmanship, designed with the upmost care. You are special.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16 NKJV).
God says you are: Chosen.
John 15:16 NKJV
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.”
If you are a believer and follower of Christ Jesus, it is because He has chosen you. You were hand-picked by God to be His precious child and given the task to go represent Him to others by bearing lasting fruit; the fruit of the Spirit, the Holy Spirit of God.
The fruit of the Spirit is: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience (or long-suffering), Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and self-control. These are fruit given to every follower of Jesus by His Spirit. He cultivates and grows them in each heart. You are chosen and given the task and commandment to go out into the world and represent Jesus by bearing these fruits to others. You are chosen to be set-apart from the world, that is to behave and act differently than others might expect.
You are chosen to unselfishly love and seek the best for one another.
This task is not always easy, and we most definitely cannot do it with our own strength. When we run into a difficult situation with someone, we can ask God the Father, through Jesus Christ, to help us bear the fruit of the Spirit to that difficult person. He will empower us, through the Spirit, to accomplish the task. You are Chosen.
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9 NKJV).
God says You are: Unique – one of a kind
Psalms 139:13-14 NKJV
“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made…”
You are uniquely made by the hand of God Almighty! You are His masterpiece, a work of loving beauty! God formed you, every part- big and little. He handpicked your hair color, your eye color, the size of your nose and ears, He decided whether you would have dimples, and He gave you a unique personality. Every part of your being, God uniquely designed. You were formed by God himself! And He looked at you and said; Yes indeed, this is very good!
You are so very precious to Him and He loves you beyond measure!
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you…” (Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV)
So, on the not so good days, when you are feeling “less-than”, remember what God says about you: You are Special, created with purpose and for good works, you are precious and chosen to represent the Lord Jesus, you are lovely, beautifully created by the hand of God Almighty. And He takes pleasure in you!
Absolutely nothing and no one can ever separate you from His love! You are His uniquely special and chosen Child…He Loves you!
Romans 8:38-39 NKJV
“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor powers, nor things in the present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
